OUR MISSION
Arrowhead Springs Mission
At Arrowhead Springs Nature Preserve & Retreat, our mission is to help people reconnect with nature through quiet, restorative experiences that support the body, mind, and spirit. Located in the Arrowhead Springs area of the San Bernardino Mountains, we protect this landscape and invite guests to slow down, breathe deeply, and return to what matters.
Here in the mountains of the San Bernardino National Forest, we embrace the grandeur of nature, wildlife, chirping birds, the sound of flowing water in the creeks of Arrowhead springs, and the rustling of forest leaves. This backdrop creates a serene environment for inner reflection and contemplation. Thoughts sparked by the beauty of nature and wildlife offer the best setting to change the focus of the mind from the thoughts of daily rigors and stress to the wonder of mountains, springs, lakes, forests, deserts, and the wildlife that dwells there.
The Nurturing Nature

Nature draws the mind to reflect upon its vastness and causes a wonder in the mind about its creation. It entices the mind to appreciate the splendor of surrounding plants, flowers, and trees in which its creatures celebrate life under the open skies, stars, moon, and planets. The secluded environment allows the mind to take a contemplative journey in the creation of the natural world, of which we are all a part. A sense of appreciation and gratitude emerges as to how the same energy that created nature transcends into the life and spirit of all creatures.
Awakening Wonder
The contemplation of this transcending creative energy leads the mind to reflect upon the purpose of our life. This thoughtful journey opens the door to pondering right from wrong in our daily actions. Are we living to serve nature’s creation or is it all about us and our needs? The mysteries of nature make us ponder over such questions.
Reflection & Purpose

Naturalist John Muir while visiting the awe-inspiring Sierra Nevada Mountains remarked “We are now in mountains and they are in us, kindling enthusiasm, making every nerve quiver, filling every pour and cell of us”. Nature wells up positive emotions of gratitude that are good for our physical and mental wellbeing. It makes us feel part of something larger and takes the mind away from self-centered thoughts. Nature’s wonder makes us feel that all creatures of this universe are our siblings in oneness. It encourages us to be compassionate to all others. These positive emotions impact our behavior towards others. Psychologists call this phenomenon as thoughts that propel us to altruistic behavior. It is this behavior that leads us to 'become one with nature’.
